For those of you waiting for the day that Justin Timberlake is single again, your time may be coming, just not as soon as you may have thought. Although many sources have announced the breakup of Timberlake and his girlfriend of three years, Jessica Biel, People.com has reported that the couple is still together, but possibly not for much longer.
"They're together," says an insider in "People." "They're not breaking up. Any time they spend time apart it's because they're working."
But "things have been a bit up in the air recently," says the source. "They've been spending more time apart - more time with each of their friends, and they've been re-evaluating [their relationship]."
Biel showed up to the L.A. wrap party (a party to celebrate the end of filming for a movie) for "Valentine's Day" with Timberlake noticeably not in company on Sept. 22. And Timberlake is rumored to be working very closely with Rihanna in the studio, although a source close to Rihanna insists the relationship is completely professional, according to People.com.
Along with these reports are several other news sources saying that the couple has indeed called it quits. "Us Weekly's" latest magazine has "It's Over" on its cover, with a photo of Biel and Timberlake. "A mutual pal of the pair tells US Weekly that Timberlake, 28, has told friends, 'It's over,' and that he ended it for good - over the phone, the story reports."
Only time will be able to tell what the truth really is, but for now, all of the Mrs. Timberlake hopefuls can keep their fingers crossed because, as history has shown, tabloid rumors almost always lead to a celebrity couple breakup.
Rumors were also being spread concerning the couple of one month, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom. However, these rumors had to do with the exact opposite of a break-up, and were found to be true when pair tied the knot on Sept. 27 in a private L.A. home.
Khloe confirmed the rumors herself, letting her fans know on her official Web site on Sept. 22, "Hi dolls," wrote Kardashian. "I'm thrilled to finally be able to tell you that the news is true... Lamar and I are getting married on Sunday!!! I couldn't be happier and I'm so excited that I can finally share the news with all of you."
However, the day after the wedding, rumors of whether the wedding was legal began to arise. According to the New York Post, the wedding was held as early as Sept. 27 because the E! Network agreed to pay for the wedding as long as they had enough time to include it in the season premiere of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" this December.
This tight time limit supposedly did not allow enough time for prenuptial agreements to be drawn up and signed, and has lead to questions about the legality of the wedding. However, Odom put these rumors to rest when he spoke with the L.A. Times on Sept. 29.
"It was real," Odom said about his wedding ceremony. "It's crazy how perception works in America when you're looking at things from the outside. 'It [the wedding] might be off, it might be on.' But anybody that was there will tell you that it was a beautiful event and it was real."
