The Jonas brothers' 3D concert experience was no surprise to anyone in the audience. If you're an 11 year old girl obsessed with romance, love and still clinging to the strict morals your parents instilled in you, then you would love it. Otherwise, anyone other then some random 20-or-30 year old who is obsessed with the Disney Channel would find it typical and rather boring.
The Jonas Brothers show some great talent, and their 3D movie was created in such a way that the audience truly felt that they were involved in the stars' lives, something that many would die to experience in real life. However, the Jonas brothers, at heart, will always represent what every boy band does. They are huge now, but the question is when will they fade out?
The most intriguing aspect of the Jonas Brothers is probably the fact that they write all of their own songs. They are like Taylor Swift, who actually made a guest appearance in the movie, in that they offer something more to the world then just their music and cute faces; they offer their souls in a way. Anyone that composes their own lyrics extends their hearts out more to the world, because writers cannot help but write from their own experiences and opinions.
Contrary to that idea, however, the Jonas brothers have little to offer the world. As one can see in their movie, which depicted little besides clips of the boys behaving "normally" and their concerts like the one at Madison Square Garden, their songs are all relatively similar. "Love Bug," and "Can't Have You," lyrics display such similar themes, the idea of love and being unable to obtain it or being scared you won't find it again. While these ideas are inspirational because everyone can relate to them, halfway through the movie, most people would get rather bored because of the repetitive aspects of many of the songs.
The remarkable aspect of the Jonas brothers, but also their downfall, is probably their avoidance of sex, drugs and everything "bad." All three of the brothers wear purity rings and the basis of many of their songs is love and kissing and girls but it will never go beyond that point. To some, especially parents, this is such a refreshing take on the world.
While the 3D movie was entertaining and the bond between the brothers was unique and enticing, it was truly what was expected of them. If you are an eleven-year-old girl with a huge crush on the boy that sits next to her in math class, you will love it; otherwise, you'll take it for what it is; decent music, great 3D effects and on its way to succeed just like every other boy band.
