Golf clubs are worth more to Tiger Woods than just a couple of PGA championships. In fact, his wife was able to use golf clubs to smash the back of his 2009 Cadillac SUV after Woods got pinned next to a tree.
According to Windemere Police Chief Daniel Saylor, Woods was laying in the street when officials got there.
"His wife had broken out the back window with a golf club to get into the vehicle and pull him out," Saylor said.
According to "Us Magazine," Woods pulled out of his driveway last Friday morning around 2:23 a.m., when he first struck a fire hydrant, then drove into his neighbor's property and hit a tree. Because he was moving at a speed of less than 33 mph, the airbags in the car did not deploy and he was taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Fla.
"Officials are investigating the crash," according to the magazine's Web site. "It is not clear whether Woods or anyone else will be charged. The accident did not appear to have been alcohol-related, according to the Florida Highway Patrol."
"[Officials] were holding him down because he kept trying to get up and he kept going in and out of consciousness," Saylor said. "They held his head stable for him and basically made sure he didn't move."
In other news, The American Music Awards kicked off Thanksgiving break last weekend with a controversial performance from American Idol finalist Adam Lambert.
Lambert performed his new single while gyrating and crawling across the stage.
Toward the end of the performance, Lambert leaned over and grabbed a male bandmate's head and kissed him.
"I admit and I'm kind of proud of the fact that I did get a little carried away," Lambert told "People" magazine. "I had a good time and I was merely interpreting the lyrics of my song. It wasn't meant to piss anyone off, it wasn't meant to hurt anyone or cause any problems. I don't feel like I owe anyone an apology. I did something female performers have been doing for years. All of a sudden a guy does it, and it's crazy. I do think there's a slight double standard."
Twitter users went crazy after the performance showing on ABC, and so did the network. ABC has apparently shown signs of disapproval, and has made it clear that the former idol won't be performing on their station again. After canceling an appearance Lambert was supposed to make on Wednesday morning's Good Morning America, Lambert was unfazed. Instead, the singer went on CBS's "The Early Show" and highlighted the other obscenities of the night.
"He noted that Lady Gaga smashed whiskey bottles during her performance, Eminem rapped about rape and Janet Jackson briefly groped a male dancer," according to Yahoo News.
"I guess I have a tendency to divide people," he said on the show. "Apples and oranges - you either like it or you don't."
