As midterms quickly approach, UConn students will find themselves on lockdown in the library, swamped with the past month's worth of reading. YouTube videos are often the perfect solution to save procrastinators from cabin fever. With the thousands of videos released daily, you can get lost in the YouTube jungle without ever finding a worthwhile clip. An experienced YouTuber checks out the list of videos that have had the most views or have been ranked the highest to ensure that they will be entertained, but even this plan is not foolproof. No one wants to search through tons of sing-alongs made by preteens or stumble upon another terrifying shock video. Here is a list of several videos released in the past couple of weeks that may be worth your time.

Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy shorts Over the past month, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane has been releasing shorts that have been getting millions of hits on the Tube. These one- to two-minute videos have the same quick-witted jokes that McFarlane is famous for. Popular releases include Bob Marley acting as his own attorney, the real story of Super Mario saving Princess Peach, and a dog on the "$25,000 Pyramid" game show. Fans of "Family Guy" are sure to enjoy the Cavalcade.

John Lajoie's new music video John Lajoie has become a YouTube favorite with his comedy songs and raps. His rap "Everyday Normal Guy" and Jack Johnson-like tune about a certain shock video are some of his funnier works. His latest release is the second of a two part song called "Show Me Your Genitals" which has received accolades from viewers.

Sarah Palin interviewed by Charlie Gibson In vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's first interview after she was announced as John McCain's running mate, she was asked if she supported the Bush Doctrine and the plans to invade Pakistan without their government's approval. Palin becomes flustered at first and gives no clear-cut answer to Charlie Gibson's questions. Critics attribute the interview flop to her inexperience and lack of knowledge while Palin supporters feel Gibson was attempting to corner her unfairly with the questions. Either way, as the election approaches it is nice to see more of the gun-toting politician many people only know as the babe who looks like Tina Fey. Which leads to…

SNL's Tina Fey as Sarah Palin It is hard to imagine that anyone has not heard of "Saturday Night Live" comedian Tina Fey's impersonation of Sarah Palin. The video has gotten nearly 2 million hits since it was posted a little over a week ago. Fey's rendition of Palin is spot-on, with her nearly identical outfit and exaggerated accent. There will surely be more hilarious Palin impersonations from Fey to come over the next couple months until the election, and maybe even four years after.

Chris Brown Acoustic Cover This acoustic cover of Chris Brown's song "Forever" is just as good, if not better, than chart-topping original. The band Boyce Avenue puts an excellent spin on the dance beat with two acoustic guitars, a rectangular drum, and a symbol. The song has been gathering a ton of views since its release earlier this week.
