Letter to the Editor: Students should be informed of ticket lotteries through many methods

I would like to complain about the recent announcements about lottery tickets for the NCAA Men's Basketball Big East Tournament Games and the 50 Cent Spring Weekend Concert.

I had no idea that these lotteries were occurring because the announcements were only made in The Daily Campus and not in our Huskymail e-mail.

With all due respect, not everyone reads The Daily Campus in its entirety every day, but almost everyone checks their e-mail every day - "your e-mail is your business," isn't it, UConn?

My friends and I were all left out of the lotteries for these events because no announcement was sent by e-mail and we were unaware.

It's completely unfair that this happened, considering that the University is usually very good about sending out important announcements by e-mail. In addition, every evening my Inbox gets filled with university announcements about events I don't care about such as Portuguese classes, medical studies and cultural society meetings, while e-mails I would care about - such as 50 Cent concert tickets and NCAA Basketball tickets - don't get sent.
