No. 7 UConn improved their record to 16-2 after a shutout against Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ. The Huskies also improved their Big East conference record to 4-1, but the win was still not enough to put them atop Syracuse in Big East standings.

Loren Sherer scored her 25th and 26th goals of the season during the game. Jestine Angelini collected her 10th goal of the season, passing Ali Blankmeyer to put her in third place on the team for goals scored. Allison Angulo and Alicia Angelini had stellar offensive performances, racking up three assists each. The Huskies were 3-of-7 off penalty corners. Interestingly enough, the Huskies have not scored in any other way than off penalty corners during the past three games. UConn out-shot Rutgers 11-7 and Andrea Mainiero made four saves.

The Huskies will play the University of Albany and Villanova in their final two games in the regular season. Albany was previously a ranked team until recently falling into honorable mention.

Villanova is currently ranked 2-3 in the conference, and a loss to them in the final game of the season will have a negative impact on the Huskies' first round match-up in the Big East tournament.

The Huskies will play Albany at home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
