Game of the week: New England Patriots 27-21 win over the Baltimore Ravens
Just when everybody was ready to write them off, Tom Brady and the Patriots beat the team that many have considered to be the best in the NFL.
The Patriots defense did a good job of containing the Ravens offense, which has been uncharacteristically explosive so far this season. Without a lot of help from the ground game, Brady had an efficient game for the second straight week, and threw his first touchdown pass to Randy Moss this season.
The win proves that the Patriots are still a top contender in the AFC, and if Brady can completely regain his 2007 form, him and the Patriots will be the team to beat in the AFC East.
Big letdown: Michigan Wolverines
The Wolverines lost to a bad Michigan State team, continuing a trend of inconsistency and mediocrity amongst the Big 10 title contending teams. Michigan trailed 6-20 late in the fourth quarter, but was able to score two quick touchdowns thanks to impressive drives led by freshman quarterback Tate Forcier. They were unable to capitalize on the late comeback, however, and lost in overtime.
Number of the week: 0 Number of games that separate the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers. The two teams will play a tiebreaker at Minnesota on Tuesday to determine who the A.L Central Champion is.
