The ones to attend:

Football vs. No. 19 North Carolina, Saturday, Rentschler Field, 12 p.m.

What better place to be than at the Rent on the home opener? Unlike home openers in the past which were usually against the likes of Maine or Rhode Island, the Tar Heels bring a potential ACC champion to East Hartford and it should be a good game. As anybody who got season tickets will know, they sold out extremely quickly, so the student section should be packed. It's an important game for UConn to show that last year's 38-12 drubbing at the hands of North Carolina was only a fluke.

Women's soccer vs. Boston University, Friday, Morrone Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

This weekend is the annual UConn Classic hosted by the women's soccer team, who are currently on a two-game winning streak after dropping their first two games of the season. Despite the loss of Annie Yi, the Husky offense has been potent as of late, scoring a combined six goals in their last two games.

The ones to follow up on:

Field hockey at No. 3 Michigan, Saturday, 2 p.m.

The field hockey team is off to another fast start, going 4-0 and downing a highly ranked Penn State team in the process. This weekend the No. 5 Huskies head to Ann Arbor, Mich. to play another top 10 opponent in the Wolverines. If coach Stevens' crew can get a tough road win they will be well on their way to another impressive season.

Men's soccer at No. 6 Dartmouth, Friday, 7 p.m.

After a disappointing 3-0 loss to Boston University in front of a packed Morrone Stadium last time out, the No. 18 Huskies look to rebound but it will not be easy as they head to New Hampshire to take on a loaded Big Green. If UConn can come out with the win they will be back on track, however another loss could mean a long season.
