On Friday night in Milwaukee, the Huskies jumped out to a 2-0 lead after Danielle Dakin netted her first collegiate goal and Melissa Busque scored her sixth of the season, but the Huskies could not hold onto their lead as Stephanie Vasos and Anna Sawicki scored goals for the Golden Eagles, tying the game. In double overtime, a throw-in drew goalkeeper Jessica Dulski out of the net, and Marquette's Rachael Sloan's shot to the far post sank the Huskies and their three-game winning streak. Brittany Taylor led the team with five shots while Dulski had seven saves.
UConn continued their weekend road trip with a Sunday matinee against South Florida. The Huskies once again gained an early lead, as Busque assisted Elise Fugowski in the 28th minute. And once again, UConn was unable to hold their lead. The Bulls erased the one goal deficit when Gina Pacheco scored her first goal of the season in the 56th minute. With ten minutes left to play, Pacheco set up Chelsea Klotz with the game-winning goal for host USF. The Bulls improved to 6-5-3 on the season. UConn dropped their record after two weekend losses to 9-5. Their Big East mark fell to 4-3, still good enough for first place in the American Division.
Next weekend the Huskies will hit the road again with matches in the Midwest against Notre Dame and DePaul.
