De'Quan Muhammad, 18, of Hartford, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. on Palm Street in Hartford and charged with giving a false statement, hindering prosecution and interfering with an officer. Muhammad was arrested on the command of a Superior Court arrest warrant issued in relation to the investigation of the homicide of Jasper Howard. Muhammad was charged after he twice denied any knowledge of the stabbings and provided this denial to police investigators in two separate written statements. Information was subsequently received that showed Muhammad did have knowledge of the events that occurred during the altercation and stabbing, and that he told more than one person that he had witnessed the altercation. His bail was set at $200,000 and his court date was set for Nov. 3.
Justin Young, 28, of Willimantic, was arrested at 10:19 p.m. at the UConn Police Headquarters and charged with failure to appear. Young was arrested by UConn police on an active warrant after he failed to appear in court on May 19. The warrant stems from an incident on April 15, where Young was arrested for motor vehicle charges, including driving under suspension. His bail was set at $5,000 and his court date was set for Nov. 10.
Justin Young, 28, of Willimantic, was arrested at 11:06 p.m. at UConn Police Headquarters booking and charged with violation of probation. Young was arrested by UConn police on an active arrest warrant issued on Oct. 15. The warrant was issued for Young's arrest for violation of probation. His bail was set at $2,200 and his court date was set for Nov. 10.

Charlotte Freeland, 18, of Glastonbury, was arrested at 10:51 a.m. at the UConn Co-op and charged with larceny. Freeland was observed by Loss Prevention Staff select two items, valued at $24, place them into her pocket and leave the store without paying for them. She was released with a written promise to appear and her court date was set for Nov. 17.

Alli McFarlane, 30, of East Hartford, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. in McConaughy Hall parking lot and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance or less than four ounces of marijuana. Officers were on foot patrol in the area of North Campus and performed a motor vehicle check in the parking lot behind McConaughy Hall. After a brief investigation, it was determined that McFarlane was in possession of 3.2 grams of marijuana, a burnt marijuana joint and two packages of rolling papers. His bail was set at $1,000 and his court date was set for Nov. 17.

Kevin Richardson, 21, of Sherman, was arrested at 1:06 a.m. on North Hillside Road and charged with failure to drive in the proper lane and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a gray Audi on North Hillside Road for failing to drive in the proper lane. After identifying the operator as Richardson, police suspected that he was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Richardson was then subjected to a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed. His bail was set at $500 and his court date was set for Nov. 16.
Stephen Ferreira, 21, of Madison, was arrested at 7:06 p.m. on Alumni Drive and charged with procuring alcohol for a minor. Officers witnessed an incident where a liquor law violation had occurred. After a brief investigation, it was determined that Ferreira had purchased alcohol for a minor. His bail was set at $500 and his court date was set for Nov. 17.

Kevin Morse, 18, of South Windsor, was arrested at 12:29 a.m. in Y-Lot on Hillside Road and charged with possession of a controlled substance or less than four ounces of marijuana. Officers conducted a vehicle check in Y parking lot. After a brief investigation, Morse was found to be in possession of 3.4 grams of marijuana. His bail was set at $500 and his court date was set for Nov. 17.
