Senator Joseph I. Lieberman (DI-CT) refused to meet with demonstrators staging an impromptu sit-in at his office on Capitol Hill Thursday that ended with the arrest of nine individuals, one of whom was a UConn student.

"When Lieberman came out against the [health care] bill, we thought 'okay it's time to step it up,'" said Jason Ortiz, a 6th-semester communications major and president of the UConn ACLU.

Although Faris finds herself the only true freshman on the team, she was in the middle of the action during last night's exhibition game against the College of Saint Rose.

NCAA Football

No. 9 LSU at No. 3 Alabama, Saturday, 3:30 p.m., CBS

As college football winds down in the following weeks, this game may be the most important game left for both of these teams.

A win for the Crimson Tide secures them the SEC West title, while a win for LSU puts them in great contention to take the SEC West title for themselves and a possible chance at playing in the National Championship game.

Picture this: you are on an airplane preparing for takeoff with your two-year-old son - who won't stop screaming. It could be because he's scared of the loud noises the engines are making, he's hungry or he would just rather walk up and down the aisle than be strapped into a seat against his will.

In the media age, every news story has to be historic. So after President Barack Obama won last November's election, every pundit endorsed the victory as emblematic of a whole new American politics. For democratic activists like James Carville and Michael Lind, this was to be a whole new era.

On the five-minute walk from W lot to the Chem building, an incredible amount of garbage litters both sides of the sidewalk. What seems to be at least a 30-rack of beer cans, several empty water bottles, numerous snack wrappers and discarded papers from someone's organic-chemistry class are strewn in the grass and gravel that people walk by every day.

The only reason I know the women's basketball season started is because the amount of old people on campus has increased exponentially.

Larry David was at the women's game! People keep telling me it was just an old guy. But I swear it was him!

My roommate just said "I guess I don't need I boyfriend, I have a snuggie.
