I'm real madrid fan and have been since i was a little kid. I remember the first galacticos era and it was good at first but gradually declined. However i think they will do great this season because the level of talent is immense and with one or two more tweaks in the defence i think they will have a legitimite chance of champions league glory. The defence is most important and if they do not make the appropriate signings they will be setting themselves up for failure even with Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. My biggest fear is the world's sinister desire to have them fail miserably and not accomplish anything important in terms of trophies. I really hope they become atleast la liga champions and not become the laughing stock of the futbol world and give people the chance to say i told you so, deja vu of 02-06. Madrid will compete in the coming season, but beyond the team strength getting better, the income of the team will increase due to the arrival of big stars. In that case even the league and Barcelona will also benefit from Madrid spendings. The world will follow more of La Liga than any other league in the world just because of Madrid spending. In addition, Barcelona being UEFA champion will guide the world fans to La Liga as they are the better league at the moment. I watched La Liga more than any other league, but now I am more even eager until the league starts. The only problem I say I have that Barcelona striker Eto'o departure makes it un interesting since he was one of the reason for barcelona success. It was mystery for me to push him away.
