Giants Acting Like 'Sore Winners'

Abstract:
Dear My Fellow New England Patriots Fans,

It's been quite a week for us, hasn't it? Are you still shocked about the events of Sunday? Yeah, me too. Sitting there, wearing my Tom Brady jersey, watching the confetti fall down onto our victorious opponents while my four Giants fans friends jumped and high-fived each other, all I could do was stare in disbelief with my head in my hands....

why we wont graciously win is simple

posted 2/08/08 @ 9:17 AM EST

this super bowl win would not have meant half as much if it were any other team that had gone 18-0 and was vying for the perfect season. but it was new england versus new york. why wont we stop rubbing it in your faces? because 3 years ago, boston fans spent their LIVES rubbing the 2004 alcs in new york's face. even though they failed to make it to the postseason a year later, they clung to their one ring in 86 years as if they could really die happy. they taunted new york in our time of mourning.

welcome to reality new england. no one's perfect, and it'll be a cold day in hell when i let you live it down

"...we are only one of two teams to ever have an undefeated regular season, all the while the entire world was calling us cheaters..." I thought that was because, uh, the Patriots were caught cheating. And, in spite of that, all season long we had to hear all about the greatness of this team. But you want to talk resolve? The Giants were resolved to show all the nay-sayers what they were really made of. They played with heart and soul and they pulled the rug out from under the Patriots who, like 60% of the country, underestimated us. That's why we celebrate 18-1 as well as the Super Bowl win. Eleven wins on the road-it was David and Goliath, man. It doesn't get sweeter than this!

Eh, we didn't need this Super Bowl. We've already got two recently. I was just glad the Sox got another World Series title. Since 2000: Red Sox 2, Yankees 0. Who's cursed now?

Tom Brady; clearly a great player. He almost won the game.

Bill Belicheck; clearly (somehow) lacks class. He came from the Naval Academy (his Dad), Wesleyan U (clearly an intellect) and the Giants organization ( a Parcells protege; though Parcells was often a horse's ass, he at least in victory showed some joy ).

Eli Manning; showed development and guts. Not just a face full of teeth.

Tom Coughlin; made a significant change in his coaching approach. Was a pretty tough guy as a player; was "halfback" to Larry Csonka (1972 undefeated Dolphins, you might realize)@ Syracuse. Also a Parcells protege.

Pats' O-line really good but old, slow.

Giants' D-line young, athletic, (except for Strahan?).

Outcome and flow reminded me of Bears / Giants 1963 NFL Champ game (I was only 10 years old then, OK?). Jints (Y.A.Tittle 36 TD passes) were pounded by "da Bears" pass rush and blitzes. No way the high-powered O could lose, but YA ended up bloody and on his knees. YA was an old man by then, and Brady is still young, but Brady ended up on his knees, Osi's # 72 helmet among others, next to him on the ground.

You will never hear Patriots style chirping from real Giants fans; our heritage is too great, including many ass-kickings and long dry spells.

Oh cry me a river. Tom Brady's bandwagon moronic frat-boy brigade needs to man up and admit defeat. Oh and Mr Reardon I love the way it only matters from 2000 on funny the way you can skew records to your liking. Typical whiney New Englanders

are you serious? sore winners? cocky? excuse me...what is "the way we draft, some exceptional young talent is bound to come in and make an impact right away" and "will always be the envy of those many Patriot haters out there. Next season we will be back.

And we will be angry."

and running on about the stats you produced during the season with 3 top quality receivers and a top tier rb....is it rocket science that you could accomplish that?

you sound like a sore loser. you guys think you're just supposed to win...unfortunately it doesn't work that way. time to get over yourselves.

the AUDACITY of pats fans to call other teams cocky in any way.

brady - only 17 points...i wish he would have said 45 - 42 etc.... with his pretentious smirk.

most football fans were thrilled to see them go down. guys like harrison calling the giants dirty when he's known for being a dirty player...wilfork poking brandon jacobs in the eye. patriots are the class of the nfl. you and the vast majority of patriots fans live in a bubble. the team is outrageously cocky, little bill is an incredibly sore loser, and you had the whole damn place ready for a perfect season before you even played the game. excuse the rest of the league for being happy about your demise...and we'll be shaking in our booties next season...you'll be angry that you...what...got outplayed fair and square? think of something else to write. this story is severely lacking in any substance other than a tear jerker.

"And we will be angry." We're all terrified. Really.

Bunch of babies. You Pats fans shove your arrogant, holier-than-thou crap down everyone's throats all year, your QB scoffs at the notion that he can be held to 17 points, your coach is a cheater who runs the score up every chance he gets, and the Giants are the sore winners? The sore anything!?

You're full of shit and you know it. And so does everyone else who hates your stupid team. The Pats gave the Giants little to no respect leading up to this game and they proceeded to kick Brady's ass up and down the field. The Pats lost and looked sloppy and overmatched doing it - so suck it up, nancy.

Tim,

Giants fan here. It's clear that you are in denial. It's also clear as a diehard fan you don't even know your own team. You have an aging defense. Seau 39, Teddy b. 34, Harrison 35, Seymour I don't know but he's no spring chiken, Vrabel, Colvin. They all got old together. And signing Moss is not a given dude. If you give him the money he is going to want, unless Belicheat can brainwash him even farther, you probably won't get Samuals back. And now that the Giants exposed how to attack your offense, it will be interesting to see how teams go after you quarterback next year. Hey dude get used to it. What goes around comes around and it's comin' 'round the bend. Having said all that, are you aware that the Pats have the number one easiest rated schedule next year in the NFL. It's true. How the hell is that possible? It's not supposed to work that way. Doesn't matter. They put together an offense for the ages that will be compromised next year anyway. Maybe no Randy Moss, certainly no Dante Stallworth, and all you'll have left is Wes Welker. Ah well, chew on some of that in the off season.

Provide me one example of how the Giants are "sore winner". Why because Strahan said "We stomped you out!"? Well that's actually true and that was directed at every single team the Giants beat on the road. Is it because we're everywhere on the talk-show circuit? Well it's within a week after we won a Super Bowl, that's usually the right time to interview players and coaches after their victories. Didn't the last 3 Super Bowl wins teach you that? Pardon me but the NY scribes didn't plan on publishing a book about our season prior to the Super Bowl titled 19-0 nor did our defensive players didn't yell to the offense that the game was over and invite the team to the post-game celebration like Richard Seymour did. Also, Tom Coughlin is many things but he would never leave the game before the final whistle. At the Parade throught The Canyon of Heroes there wasn't a chant of "Red Sox Suck!" like there was a "Yankees Suck!" chant led by Larry Izzo during one of your parades. Quite frankly after a season of getting caught red-handed cheating, running up the score like a Steve Spurrier offense, and rise of hubris among New England fans and players, you guys got what you deserved. You were outplayed in all facets of the game and outclassed. The only thing bad that came out of this was hearing from the '72 Dolphins again. This may be a wake up call to the New England fan but you are the NFL's answer to the Evil Empire. It's not going to change unless the Cowboys start winning playoff games again.

"We don't need this one" please stop...Never take for granted what your team has been able to do over the past 7 years..My congrats to you for your success...But to think next year or any year for that is a shoe in is just stupid...God forbid something were to happen to Brady (I do not wish him or any other player harm)The Pats would be right back at the bottom of the NFL.. For the true pats fans(pats fans of th 70's 80's, 90'S) - Don't ever forget were they came from but enjoy every moment....For the Pats fan that became pats fans after 2001 (most of you)- Please...you are not true football fans.....Oh and Boston realy needs to stop comparing itself to the greatest city in the world...its just make them sound dumb and Im sorry that all of NE is represented by them...

It's receiving "corps", not core. Glad to see your UConn education is going well so far.

Also, saying "we" is kind of lame. Really? Are the Patriots employing your services to help them try and bounce back next year? No? Then say "they". You're not actually on the team, Timmy.
