Ok, as a UConn Alumnus, let me tell everyone reading this article and who plans to write future articles about this same topic...this is nothing new and you should just expect it. The housing lottery happens every year and each year everybody complains and mopes about it. Understandably, it is easier to live on campus than to have to commute in, but think of it as practice for the real world! It's rather a minor issue. Also, UConn is one of the few state schools that provides housing for a majority of it's students. A lot of schools guarentee 1, maybe 2 years and then say, get your own place. Again, this is nothing new, and it will continue year after year. As my mother always says "Life's not fair."
