Art, especially art like this, is meant to point out the hypocrisies of our culture. It uses offensive language, but it is not offensive. Shame on you USG. This is the reason life on the UConn campus is so white and monotonous.

in other news...USG is also seeking to write a statement condemning the cooks at South dining hall who are continuously happy and laughing while grilling beef patties. USG senators claim such an act is upsetting to the vegans on campus and is an insult to their non-meat beliefs. The heated debate, which lasted for hours, had to be postponed and continued today due to the airing of LOST on ABC last night in the USG office.

Now, now, I think you've get it all wrong. There's nothing of value to discuss here. We here at SOAP (Students for Objective Art in Public) want to wash all of that controversy away. Don't buy into that art-school propaganda that drawings, paintings, sculpture, and other forms of visual media can convey any deeper meaning. Art should be uniform and bland; art should cover up that bare spot on the wall where the painter missed a spot. SOAP is working toward that end by removing particularly thought-provoking pieces from the public spotlight. If need-be, we can invite maintenance to come back and touch up that bare spot on the wall. We can only hope that USG continues to tear down subjective, discussion-prompting art in the future; we at SOAP, after all, hope that such actions will persuade any would-be artists to pick more fulfilling careers (such as a stint as a USG senator).
