This is what got the us so angry with the HRC...
* In March 2000, the HRC added Gender to its Mission Statement.
* In May of this year, at the Transgender Lobbying Days in Washington DC the HRC said that they would only back a gender inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)
* In a speech at the Southern Comfort Conference on September 14, Joe Solmonese, the President of the HRC reiterated that they will only back a gender inclusive ENDA.
* The end of September after Massachusetts Representative Barney Franks introduces a non-inclusive ENDA; the HRC said that they would remain neutral on the bill. They stated that they would support neither the bill nor oppose the bill and they would not score the Representatives if they voted against the bill.
* In the beginning of November, the HRC said that they would only support the bill and oppose any amendments. They then stated that they would score the Representatives who voted against the bill.
* They had a secret poll done in October 26 and they did not make it public until November 6th just before the vote in the House.
Already in a court case in Texas, a company is using the fact the House passed a non-gender inclusive ENDA to justify the firing of a trans-woman.
