Groups Hold 'Die-in For Darfur' To Raise Genocide Awareness

Abstract:
Spurred on by student action, including protests, the UConn Foundation has decided to ask its fund managers to remove $1.5 million worth of investments that are connected to Sudan.

The group that spearheaded the change, the UConn chapter of Students Taking Action Now: Darfur (STAND), an organization with over 600 chapters nationwide, objected to the investments because of their connection to the genocide in Sudan's Darfur region....

Great work students! I participated in a Camp Darfur and Die in last February when I visited UC Berkeley. I hope to see more students through out the nation standing up! THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT EXAMPLE!!!
