Who is the best player in the NBA?

Abstract:
Lebron James is the best basketball player in the known world. He is an unstoppable super-human that can get to the rim any time he pleases, and somehow makes an average team look great. Put him on the Lakers and they would never lose. Bryant Bryant is good but he will never be enough to make a team a champion....

Kevin, I agree with you. If we are talking about the best athlete, James is so far ahead of everybody, nobody can even see him. But Kobe is the same way, as far as basketball talent goes. Imagine, if Lebron had Kobe's body, would he even be a star, let alone superstar, based on his basketball skills. Now imagine, if Kobe had Lebron's athleticism. Athleticism goes away with time, ask Shaq But skills don't, ask Jordan.

You people are crazy. Kobe Bryant is the best player ever, look at what all he acomplished and at what age. Kobe is more finness and Lebron more physical. Plus Lebron has no credentials to back his game up yet. So stop counting eggs before they hatch.

Kobe Bryant is simply the best on the planet. Lebron doesn't compare. Lately Kobe doesnt have to score 50 and 60 points per game but he could if he wanted to. Lebron can only dream of getting 81 points in a game or shattering the 3 pt record for a single game. Let lebron get one of his feet wet(win a championship) first please!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am not trying to diss you, or anything, but saying that kobe could score 50 or 60 points a game "if he wanted to" isn't the truth, what player wouldn't wanna score as much as possible? i still think kobe is better than lebron though, lebron is just blessed with amazing athleticism.

lebron james is the best by far, all kobe does is shoot and shoot and shoot some more. Thats why he scored 81. Lebron isnt afraid to kick it out to his other teamates like kobe is. Kobe is what i call a selfish basketball player, all he wants to do is rack up points so he can be an all star. Lebron gets his points when the TEAM needs it. Also I never see kobe with a double-double or a triple-double. Thats cause all he does is cherry pick and shoot. Lebron has double doubles and triple doubles all the time

LeBron James no doubt is the best basketball player to walk the earth today. His still putting up impressive numbers, led the league this year in TD (7) while playing with a much needed help from former Buck, Mo Williams. Kobe's good but with him on the Lakers and including guys like Gasol, Bynum and Odom, they should just about make the 70 win mark easy. Instead the Cavaliers owned the best regular Season Record (66-16).

They say LeBron is better cus he can "do everything" pass, dunk, and drive amongst other things. But if LeBron was 6'6"205 he wouldn't do those things against bigger, better defenders. Kobe does it against bigger better defenders like Ron Artest, Shane Battier, Andre Kirilenko, Tayshaun Prince and even LeBron himself. LeBron is a phenom because he was lucky enough to have that body and not only that but he was lucky enough to be able to move it that well for a big man like Dwight Howard. Just because you think LeBron is a better passer doesn't mean he's better. Jordan was pretty much just a scorer and he is known as the best player ever, even more than Magic (which reminds me more of LeBron). Then if you think Kobe's just a scorer then he's the best scorer of all time, hence the best player ever to play basketball in the NBA or in the streets.

Lebron James is the Best player to play the game of basketball.Its not often you see a 6'8 280lb man and 99.8% of the weight is muscle. Lebron James has tooken his game to a whole new level.He can play all 5 positions and he can jump so high that his head can go above the backboard.This man in my opinion is better than Michael Jordan himself.All he need is a set of rings and a dunk contest trophy to go along with the unbelievable talent.

You all have decent points, although I think it is too early to make this arguement. I am from Ohio and a huge Cleveland fan and I agree LeBron IS a super human athlete, but he has yet to prove himself in the play-offs. Yes it is still early in his career but when it comes down to it if I were to pick a player for my team I would pick Kobe Bryant because he is clutch. He is the best closer in basketball. At the end of the game, if there is a player who will come through and make the big shot it is still Kobe. Yes LeBron may get more assists and rebounds than Kobe but it is bullshit to call him better than Kobe YET. He needs to prove himself first. You are all retarded and need to stop argueing about this, the NBA finals this year will be Kobe vs LeBron and perhaps we will see then who is the better player.

Kobe is is the best basketball players in the nba even though he can be a ball hog even though he is a ball hog he can get the ball to the rim. Lebron James is a good player but not as good player as kobe Lebon can shoot but his team is not the best team as u can see lebron cant do it by him self if his team can step it up a little more the cavs and the lakers dont know wat they can accomplish

kobe is better than Lebron. (4 rings, 81 points, record for most 3's in a game (12), better free throw and feild goal percentage,MORE CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!) HE HAS BETTER SHOOTING AND HIS GAME HAS NO FLAWS. While Lebron is not a great shooter and cant lead his team to a championship, Kobe has lead his team to 4 and can shoot from anywhere.

kobe is not like any other player i dont see any other nba player beginning his carrer at the age of 17. beside after comparing kobe has better fg,ft,ppg,3pt p, perrty much the whole offense and while i see LJ air balling them even lapups. james might be the king but kobe is the king of all kings. kobe broke more records and set records like 81 points and even LJ himself says kobe is the best.

Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA because he can shoot from the perimeter, he can shoot the turn around jumper from the mid-range, he can drive the lane and dunk it, he will defend the opponents best player, just like he held lebron to 8 points when Kobe scored 26. Kobe can make assists, get steals, get rebounds, and score. come on people, 81 points in one game. Lebron can never do that. Kobe has 4 championships, while Lebron has how many, 0!!! Kobe did it without Shaq. he will do it at least three more times without him. Lebron needs shaq to even get close to kobe. maybe the cavs will go far in the playoffs but they wont win a championship. the lakers have been there and done that. kobe has a good team to support him. fisher, gasol, odom, bynum, ariza, farmar, thats an allstar team. they also have sasha. kobe is the best player in the league, theres no doubt about it. this is coming from a true fan.
