I cannot believe that the town of Mansfield is still going through with this farce. Even before the economy took a downwarn turn people in this town were up in arms over this. Our taxes are already high, we are already paying for the community center that we were told would be able to pay for its self (not). Does this town think we are made of money. Have you seen all of the forclosures. Have you spoke to the people who are now unemployed and are just barely making ends meet. This town does not need another expense. Can't we just try to get through this recession without having to worry about another uneeded expense. I really do not understand the thinking of the Town of Mansfield and the people who live in it. WAKE UP people.

I think this is a good idea. I went to UCONN ten years ago and the biggest complaint around campus is the lack of things to do. Storrs is in the middle of nowhere and without a car your options are extremely limited. Blueback Square in West Hartford turned out beautifully in my opinion and if they did something like that in Storrs the foot traffic alone from such a large student body would create a generous revenue stream for the town. It would also create jobs, something we need badly.
