Though they are separated by years of football history, both UConn and Notre Dame are having strikingly similar seasons. The Huskies' (4-5) five losses have been by a combined 15 points while the Fighting Irish's (6-3) four losses have been by 18.

Both teams will be looking to break losing streaks when the Huskies travel to South Bend, Ind.

Huskies head back to the Garden

On the heels of Tuesday's 25-point victory over No. 13 Texas at the site of the 2010 Final Four, the No. 1-ranked women's basketball team is on the road again Friday to take on Holy Cross at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on CPTV.

The Huskies (2-0) have been dominant in two outings thus far, annihilating Northeastern by 70 points at Gampel Pavilion in the season-opener before rolling past the Longhorns in what was supposed to be an early season test in San Antonio.

Men's hockey faces off with Falcons

Air Force men's hockey, winners of the past three Atlantic Hockey championships and currently tied for first place in the conference, makes the trip to Storrs this weekend for two games against UConn.

The Huskies enter the weekend series sporting a 2-7-1 overall record (2-4-1 AHA).

Huskies head to Nutmeg Classic

One week from today, the UConn women's hockey team will travel to New Haven for the Nutmeg Classic. Vying for the trophy and local accolades will be UConn, Quinnipiac, Yale and Sacred Heart.

"Quinnipiac has had some very close games with good competition," said head coach Heather Linstad.

Volleyball meets Cincinnati in Big East Tournament

Regular season play has ended for UConn volleyball with an overall record of 13-16 heading into the Big East tournament as the no. 7 seed. Today at 12:30 p.m., they will take on the No. 2 seed Cincinnati Bearcats.

"Everyday at practice this week we have been breaking down the Bearcats so we are prepared to beat them in the first round of the Big East tournament," said senior Chauntay Mickens.

There are a million reasons to watch this game. First and foremost is the fact that UConn football is playing at one of the most storied programs in the history of college sports. It's a testament to what Randy Edsall has done to see this program playing the Fighting Irish less than a decade after the Huskies became a division program.
