"DEATH TO THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS!" It sounds like something one would hear during one of those fantasy role-playing games. It is not. This was one of the epithets used to describe incumbent Conn. Gov. John Rowland at the recent Democratic Convention. There is a fine line between the usual campaign mud-slinging and being downright nasty.

"Death to the Prince of Darkness." It sounds like something out of an old Robin Hood movie, but unfortunately this statement was made most recently right here in Conn. At the Conn. Dem. nominating convention in July, the invocation speaker, prominent Dem.

I am writing in response to Luca Badetti's article entitled "Life is Good: One UConn Freshman's Thoughts (Sept. 6)". I am not one for prejudging people, but from the statements and arguments he makes, I get the impression that he is somewhat naive. For instance, he titles his article "Life is Good" and then goes on to pose the question "What will campus life be like?" Unfortunately, he has rushed to judgment.

I woke up early last Monday morning, Labor Day, to get some research done at the Homer Babbidge Library. When I arrived at the library, at around 10:30a.m., the doors were locked and the lights were out. Maybe it is opening a little later, I thought. Perhaps it is operating on a holiday or weekend schedule.
