"I was drunk for the first time in my life on this campus," laughed comedian Alexandra McHale Saturday night along with the dimly lit audience assembled in Putnam Refectory. The sassy, curly-haired, Orange, native felt right at home on the makeshift dining hall stage.
This past Saturday night, the third floor of the Student Union was filled with the acoustic rock compositions of a band called 4th Floor. The concert was sponsored by UConn Underground, a campus organization run by Ben Wishneski that is undertaking its second semester here at UConn.
Students, faculty and a variety of other art appreciators gathered on Thursday, Sept. 4 at the William Benton Museum of Art for the reception displaying three exhibits. Inspiration filled the air as the artists and administration shared their thoughts on one common theme: art.
Friday night, von der Mehden began their "Film Fridays International" series. This years premiere movie was the Academy Award winning film, "Chicago." "Chicago" is a Miramax film directed by Rob Marshall and written by Bill Condon. The movie is based on a musical written by Fred Ebb, John Kander and Bob Fosse, and surprisingly, it did the play justice.
