Last week, the intervention of state legislators caused the cancellation of arrangements at George Mason University in Virginia for film director Michael Moore to speak on campus five days prior to the November presidential election. Conservative voters in both the county and state governments urged university President Alan G.

Over the past week, congressional candidate Jim Sullivan has made two appearances at UConn. In the first, he stormed hundreds of dorm rooms encouraging students to register to vote. In his second campus appearance the next day, Sullivan spoke at the Student Union along side former presidential candidate Howard Dean.

Today is Columbus Day, a holiday in the United States and parts of Canada and Latin America commemorating Christopher Columbus's first landfall on El Salvador in the Caribbean. While Columbus's decision to sail into the unknown was brave, his "discovery" is hardly worth celebrating.

During Bill Clinton's presidency, bilateral talks with North Korea were the norm. These talks brought appeasement and no tangible proof that North Korea had discontinued their nuclear weapons program. Clinton bought himself time and passed the "hot potato" onto the Bush administration.
