According to by the Hartford Courant, UConn has quietly approved and spent $1 million on renovations to the president's on-campus house. The renovations include a family room with a cathedral ceiling, prodigal furniture pieces, a new granite kitchen, a French door corridor, a breakfast room with a bar and a whirlpool bath among others.

At the World AIDS Day meeting this winter, doctors announced the United States might be ready to eliminate AIDS among infants. According to the New York Times, "Mother-to-child transmission of HIV has dropped so sharply that public health officials now talk about wiping it out.

The American dream, though illusory, has not failed to solidify an entire generation of Americans within the confines set by daytime television listings. America is not prepared to face the dissolution of the ephemeral dream. America has become syndicated in all its uncertainty in an age where cheating inbreds parade at the feet of Jerry Springer, who presents them with meditations that ultimately constitute the new morality - the morality of television gurus.

At first glance, the term "gun nut" would appear to be nothing more than an ad hominem against the more enthusiastic weapon owners of this country. However, as one reads the literature espoused by gun nut organizations, the reasoning behind this term becomes startlingly clear.
