Since the ratification of Kuwait's democratic constitution in 1962, Kuwaiti women have been denied the right to vote or run for political office. Now, more than 40 years after the start of Kuwaiti democracy, there has been a serious movement pushing for women's suffrage.

Recently, UConn's capital budget spending practices have come into question. Aside from bad procurement practices, it is also clear the university has failed to implement reforms in the capital budget that would have reduced operating costs. First, the university decided not to use UCONN2000 money to build Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified buildings that would have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In 2041, about the time today's college students are eligible to collect Social Security, the system will run out of money. Thereafter, Social Security will only be able to pay out what it takes in and this means an estimated 27 percent reduction in its real value.

There is supposed to be a poetry and freestyle open mic. night Wednesday at towers called "The April Fools." I heard that this event, which was supposed to occur in the Towers Overlook Cafe, has been cancelled because Dining Services revoked the event's scheduled spot.

I am a physician living about 50 minutes north of your campus in Massachusetts. I travel nationally and internationally, taking on topics related to human sexuality and I read with interest your article on Gonorrhea and STDs ("The gross truth in common STDs," March 30).

In response to negative student feedback and the editorial in The Daily Campus on March 31, I'd like to clear up some of the ill-informed statements that have been made regarding the Club Sports Student Fee Proposal. It is inaccurate to say that the proposal made by the Club Sports Council (CSC) on Monday, March 28 is fundamentally flawed.

They should force ex-Gov. Rowland to live in West. Lock him in an empty room and only let him out one day a week. Does anyone know why they took away the metered parking in front of CLAS? I guess it wasn't as successful an endeavor as those little orange presents they like to give out.
