Often forgotten victims of Hurricane Katrina are the thousands of pets affected by the disaster. When the citizens of New Orleans were forced to flee the impending hurricane, many were unable to take their pets with them. After the storm cleared, hundreds of pets were left homeless and miles away from their owners.

Frustration Reigns In Hilltop

Students returning to campus last month were greeted by smiling faces of friends they hadn't seen all summer, a brand new list of expensive text books to buy and, for some students, water damage and mold in their dorm rooms. Caitlyn Willox, a 7th-semester journalism and sociology major, lives in Hilltop Apartments.

According to a new study performed by UConn's Center for Survey Research and Analysis (CSRA), a majority of Americans support the PATRIOT Act despite knowing little of the specific provisions made in it. A report released by the department Aug. 30 reports the public is "uninformed about [the act's] details and wary of its consequences.
