A party held days after Martin Luther King Jr. Day and hosted by students at the UConn School of Law has caused controversy and drawn fire for being racially insensitive. Photographs from the party, which had a "Bullets and Bubbly" theme, were posted on Facebook. (18) comments

UConn Police questioned three students from St. Bonaventure University this past week about their possible involvement in the Jan. 20 hit-and-run accident, which killed 19-year-old freshman Carlee Wines, St. Bonaventure officials said Thursday. St. Bonaventure President Sister Margaret Carney released a press statement Thursday morning, which announced that UConn Police had questioned three male students - two freshmen and one sophomore about the North Eagleville Road incident. Malcolm X was one of the 20th century's most misunderstood figures, according to a prominent African-American Studies scholar who spoke at at the Dodd Center's Konover Auditorium Thursday night. Dr. Manning Marable, a Columbia University professor, delivered his lecture "Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention" to about 100 people. (2) comments

The release of Windows Vista has raised questions about Microsoft's latest operating system. Should UConn students upgrade now or should they wait until more is known about Vista? Should they even bother upgrading at all? Gary Hendrickson, the Director of Technology for the NEAG School of Education, urged students to wait until the end of the semester to upgrade. (0) comments
