At the moment, Connecticut is one of only 13 states that allow passengers to consume alcohol in a moving automobile. The state does, of course, prohibit drivers from drinking while behind the wheel and from possessing an open container themselves. Yet, since the beginning of this legislative session, several Connecticut lawmakers have introduced bills attempting to create an "open-container law" - a ban on the possession of open containers of alcohol in motor vehicles. Genetic testing has been at the forefront of the news as research groups continue to make claims of finding the "genes" responsible for many human diseases, including cancer, autoimmune diseases and diabetes. It is not surprising students here at UConn have differing opinions and, at times, some people with differing opinions believe their opinion is the only right one. This mindset works toward the disadvantage of the university community because without diverse opinions and beliefs, we would all be narrow-minded and never question what we were told. (0) comments
