Global House Welcomes International Students

Internationalizing national students, while helping international students is the goal of a new program called Global House at UConn, which will open this fall, according to Isaac "Morty" Ortega, director of the program and an associate professor of wildlife ecology in the Department of Natural Resources Management and Engineering. Tap Team Dances To The Top

After only three years, the UConn Tap Team has received a bid to Nationals. The team, co-founded in spring 2004 by Lindsay Van Housen and Jessica Bennett, has 18 members, two of whom are alternates. Tryouts are held every fall. Approximately 50 girls audition. (0) comments

UConn Cheerleaders Bring Home A Win

After walking away from a local competition with a first place trophy, the White Squad cheerleaders of UConn are flying high. The squad managed to astoundingly pull together a routine in just two days, after one of the co-captains, Rachel Karll, an 8th-semester human development and family studies major, was injured and could no longer compete. Students and area residents got the chance Saturday to battle terrorist forces, fending them off with combat knives, handguns, and AK-47s at the Local Area Network (LAN) party that was held by Scythik, an independent organization created by 26-year old Gabriel Stalnaker. (0) comments
