A sold-out Student Union theatre was the venue for the A Cappella Showcase Concert Friday night where $1 introduced students to what the UConn A Cappella Association has to offer. The line cut through the Student Union more than a half-hour before the show began and eager students were turned away because the theatre was full before the first note was sung. (0) comments

Marching Band Steps Up At Preview Show

The Sherman Family Sports Complex was showered in blue and khaki as the UConn Marching Band (UCMB) lined the field Saturday evening. The band, known as the "pride of Connecticut," practiced and tuned their instruments for an hour before performing their fall preview show for followers, friends and family. (0) comments

Each year, millions of copies of new cookbooks are printed. Whether it's something as simple as a local Congregational Church's Community Recipes, or as well known as the next Emeril Lagasse book, there are cookbooks covering every imaginable type of cuisine and occasion. (0) comments

Despite chilly temperatures that dipped into the low 40s, more than 200 students turned out on Dow Field for SUBOG's first outdoor movie Sunday night. The event, which featured a showing of "Wedding Crashers" on a movie-theater sized inflatable screen, attracted a variety of students who seemed pleased with the university providing programming during Labor Day weekend.
