In the wake of the devastating Midwest floods of recent weeks, it has become increasingly clear that many mistakes were made before the first raindrop fell. At the forefront of these errors is the fact that homes were built in areas knowingly predisposed to flooding. (0) comments

From early on in life, American children are taught of the inherent need for law and order in a society otherwise incapable of policing itself. Adolescents are taught the basic rights of accused citizens, and the general functions of the justice system and courts. (0) comments

Fidel Castro, whose health has vastly deteriorated over the past year, forcing him to transfer leadership of Cuba to his brother, has still found time to comment on the politics of the world. Recently in Granma, Cuba's Communist Party newspaper, he commented that a Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama ticket would be unstoppable in the 2008 election. (3) comments

Last week I stood on the yellow line in the middle of Rte. 195 for a substantial duration of time. Why, you ask, did I choose to do this? Well, it wasn't exactly a choice. Rather, I was forced to stand there as cars zoomed by me on either side, refusing to stop and allow me to pass. (1) comment
