More so than any other music genre jazz is very difficult to define. What makes jazz jazz? In any case what can be agreed upon is that jazz has numerous ways of being expressed, several of which were on display last night by UConn students at the von der Mehden Recital Hall. (0) comments

To my knowledge, there have been few video games featuring prominent musicians as protagonists and there have been none featuring Frederic Chopin, genius composer and piano virtuoso of the Romantic period. "Eternal Sonata," developed by Tri-Crescendo for Xbox 360, takes place in the fevered brain of Chopin as he lies on his deathbed and the entire game world is made up of his dreams. (0) comments

Ever since I started college, ramen noodles have invariably become the butt of countless jokes made by all the adults who come to visit me. But the truth is that ramen noodles can really come in handy - they're easy, cheap and take virtually no time to make. (0) comments

Metro Station, one of the fastest-growing indie rock bands in America, released their self-titled debut album on Sept. 18, and maybe they should have kept it caged up. The 10-track record is chock-full of syncopated drum beats, tired synth basslines and a weird mixture of tearful lyrics on some tracks, and crazy dance party sing-along hooks on others. (6) comments

Watching Amanda Bynes' freshman year in her new movie "Sydney White" lets you escape reality and lose yourself in a fairy tale. The theme of Disney's "Snow White" is present in this humorous romantic comedy that premiered Friday. Bynes did a good job convincing the audience of her girl-next-door personality with heart and talent. (0) comments
