Apathy, lethargy and ignorance are three common reasons for not voting. Even presidential elections are plagued by the evils of these three causes of low voter turnout. Considering the turnout rates in important national elections, it would not be surprising to see a laughably pathetic turnout in UConn's USG elections. (0) comments

The latest issue social conservatives are opposing is gay marriage. They have translated their displeasure into legislation that personifies bigotry and intolerance. I won't bother making the usual arguments defending the rights of gays to marry, because the only argument I need to defend my position is this - conservatives have a terrible track record when it comes to social issues.
