Honesty is hard to find in politics - the art of saying what one thinks others want to hear. If getting elected is the ultimate goal, then there is little incentive to disclose past transgressions. Having conducted an anti-thorough and thoroughly unprofessional review of the happenings of the world in the last few weeks, it seems fair to say that recent times haven't been the best of times for common sense and sanity. An amateur would conclude that there's nothing quite so sensible that it can't be contorted into terrible nonsense, provided one has enough idle man-hours and bureaucratic man-power to do so. On Nov. 20, the Supreme Court announced its interest in deciding the scope of the Second Amendment - the right to bear arms. Previously, the Supreme Court has often sided with the states right to legislate gun control laws and has generally interpreted the Constitution to focus on a militia rather than individual rights.
