Connecticut Governor, M. Jodi Rell has recently proposed a law that would require registered sex offenders to have a code identifying them as such on either their license or state identification. Though ripe with good intentions, this law unfairly singles out a group of people who have already paid their debt to society and are trying to reintegrate themselves into the mainstream world. Abu Zubaydah was captured in 2002 in Pakistan. He is an al Qaeda agent who has operated under 37 different aliases. He carries a death sentence in Jordan for a failed attempt to blow up two hotels that are notoriously populated by American and Israeli travelers. (5) comments

The environmental movement in the United States has completely lost its way. Instead of focusing on the root of the problems plaguing our world, they look for quick, convenient Band-Aid fixes instead of trying to find solutions that, while more drastic, will solve the problem rather than mask it. An African American or female President of the United States? To even be able to ponder such a thing is an amazing and inspiring advancement for this country. The first time I can vote in the presidential election and two facets of my identity are represented in the Democratic candidates - unbelievable. (22) comments
