Commentary

The leading cause of death for young adults ages 16 to 20 is traffic accidents. Over 3,000 American youths in this age group die each year while operating or riding in a motor vehicle. Teen drivers represent a paltry 6 percent of drivers on U.S. roadways, yet account for 14 percent of all fatal motor vehicle accidents. (1) comment

In order to fully understand the opposition to marijuana reform, it is important to investigate who already benefits from the status quo prohibition. Besides recreation, there are many other uses for marijuana. Many people benefit, while many others suffer negative consequences of prohibition. (6) comments

Iraq isn't going well for America, relatively speaking. The country isn't stable, and just about 4000 American soldiers have died in three-and-a-half years. There are people who say that America cannot win, and they are wrong. Of course America can win. The United States has better technology, a larger population, and much more money. (4) comments

A sunny day in Storrs? The apocolypse is closer than we thought. So by getting to No. 13 and losing, the basketball team really is looking like the football team. The 2008 football schedule is out. The Huskies play West Virginia on Nov. 1 ... the Moutaineers have already scored. (0) comments
