Marijuana has medicinal uses. Despite numerous scientific studies and the development of synthetic medicines derived from cannabis, the United States government appears to disagree with this statement. Marijuana remains a Schedule I drug according to the DEA, which only benefits the pharmaceutical companies who now have a monopoly on the therapeutic effects of a plant that can be grown with little effort. Disapointed At Dismissal of Dr. Wilbur I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut and discovered today that the university fired Dr. Janice Wilbur ("UConn Fires HEART Leader," Feb. 29). Hebrew never struck me as a particularly hilarous language. You know you had a bad day when you find out that your girlfriend's new roomate is a past one night stand of yours. Instead of those kids outside the Co-op protesting the use of plastic bags, they should find all of my professors and protest the requirement of printing an average of 80 pages of lecture notes per night.
