That's exactly the question that has faced USG this year, after they discovered a sizeable budget surplus that had gone unnoticed for years. The found funds were the result of an outdated bookkeeping system that rounded fractions of cents incorrectly over the course of many years, according to USG president Ryan McHardy, an 8th-semester political science major. The Office of Environmental Policy (OEP) is hoping to recycle 4,000 pounds of sneakers this year during its annual sneaker recycling program, which collects sneakers for reuse as track and playground surfaces, tennis courts and field turfs. A trash can fire outside of Arjona began to spread to some leaves and grass around 3 p.m. Tuesday, but fire officials arrived quickly and put out the blaze before it could reach any cars or buildings. Fire Captain Fran Raola said fire was started accidentally. (0) comments
