In an ever-growing and encouraging trend, states and universities are attempting to mitigate their negative affect on the environment. This past week, at a conference at Yale, 18 states made a commitment to combat climate change. They signed a declaration vowing to decrease emissions equal to that of Europe's four biggest economies. With Spring Weekend only days away, people have already started to pre-game. UConn is notorious for its weekend of mass chaos and recklessness. Although many students would deem Spring Weekend the best weekend out of the entire school year, it is also important to acknowledge that it is not the only important weekend. (11) comments
Exercising one's right to live is the most important priority a person could have. By living, I do not mean "choice," "freedom," or a lavish "lifestyle," but simply the state of being where one is not dead. Economically speaking, a person should have the right to access a job where their wages can keep them alive. (6) comments
