Editorial: New recycling bags a welcome addition

In an effort to encourage students to "go green" and actively try to save the environment, ResLife has placed reusable recycling bags in the dorm rooms around campus. The bags are made of a strong material that appears to be fairly leak-proof and they are easy to store. (0) comments

To those UConn students who are sexually active: start saving up money and get ready to invest in birth control. The UConn Health Education is no longer giving Community Assistants a duffle bag chock-full-of-condoms. Now, CA's are given a mere 18 to pass out to about 40 residents depending on the residence hall. (5) comments

Here at the UConn, it is common to see a police officer forcing a student to dump out a beer on the "rape trail" (except for Spring Weekend, when anything goes) but it is far less common to witness an arrest for alcohol possession. But what about marijuana? Get caught with even a fraction of a gram of those leafy green buds and you'll face some serious consequences, such as a criminal record, loss of housing, and even loss of financial aid. Here's to a year free of jokes about West Virginia scoring, and more jokes about drunken roommates attempting to score.
