Two words: "Unfinished Business." The phrase is engraved in the minds and on the wristbands the No. 2 Men's Soccer team wore after their 2007 season came to an abrupt end by way of a 1-0 loss to Virginia Tech in the NCAA quarterfinals at home. Since that time, the team has had nothing else on their minds but redemption. (0) comments
The men's soccer team had one of the most successful seasons of any UConn sports team had in the fall of 2007. A 20-3-1 season was topped off with a Big East regular season title and a Big East tournament title. Led by Heisman frontrunner, running back Chris Wells, and the best defensive player in the nation in James Laurinaitis the Buckeyes will dominate the weakest major conference in college football - the Big Ten. New faces and injuries to key players are just a few of the challenges the Huskies (0 - 1) will have to overcome this season. One thing has not changed from last season however - expectations. Last year the Huskies finished the season ranked ninth in the nation with an overall record of 14-6-2, a Big East record of 8-2-1 and qualified for both the Big East and NCAA Tournaments.
