UConn field hockey (2-0) got off to a successful start this season with consecutive victories over Sacred Heart (0-2) Saturday, and Maine (1-1) Monday at the Sherman Family Sports Complex. On Monday the Huskies faced the visiting Black Bears who had defeated Sacred Heart Sunday at Sherman by a score of 2-1. (0) comments
The first two games of freshman forward Cara Silverman's college career have compelled head coach Nancy Stevens to refer to the newcomer from Roseland, N.J., as, "a superfrosh." Silverman's superpower of choice would seem to be efficiency. Of the five shots she's attempted through two contests - both ending in UConn victories - four have found the back of the net. (1) comment
