Editorial: Professor evaluations should be made public

It's only the second week of school but some students are already staring out the classroom window, wondering why on earth they decided to take the three-hour class with the professor whose monotonous voice has lulled half the room to sleep. What if there was another way - a way for students to select classes with more innovative, challenging or entertaining professors? There is. (0) comments

After a series of tragic deaths involving teen drivers over the past few years, the state passed stricter laws making it more difficult for 16- and 17-year-olds to obtain a driver's license. The new laws, which went into effect Aug. 1, were the most comprehensive overhaul of teen driving laws in 35 years, according to a press release from the Department of Motor Vehicles. (2) comments

Eight years ago, John McCain made a statement that should have raised a massive outcry. Instead, it went by almost unnoticed - a tiny blip in the political landscape. "I hate the gooks. I saw my first Good Ole Tom commercial of the year tonight. Now my return to school is official. How's this for witty and thoughtful? Students run their showers and faucets 'til we get trays back, then the wasted water will actually stop. It's not the lack of trays in the dining halls that has me concerned; it's the lack of sleds for when it starts to snow. (2) comments
