Fewer free condoms are available this year to UConn students due to cuts in Student Health Services' (SHS) budget. The decrease in condom availability seems to have some students concerned. Each year, Student Health Services has an annual budget which is made up of an allocation from the General University Fee (GUF) and Fees for Service revenue - generated from charges for certain goods and services, according to Michael Kurland, director of Student Health Services. Ramadan leaves non-Muslim students hungry for info

The Muslim holiday of Ramadan began this week on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Though approximately one-fifth of the world's population is Muslim, many people are unfamiliar with the history and culture behind this holiday. According to the Encarta encyclopedia, "Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is the holy month of fasting for adult Muslims because the Qur'an (Koran) was first revealed to Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, during this month. And you wondered why The Game retired. V.I.C., label mate and friend to the chart topping Soulja Boy, has further proved that hip-hop is still slowly dying single by single. His debut album, "Beast" wishes to be taken seriously, but it can't. The rhymes are terrible, the concepts are tired clichés executed in the simplest paint-by-numbers form and there's not a lot going for the album in terms of staying power. (0) comments
