Spring Break
After over a decade as the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Peter Deckers stepped down this summer, ceding the position to Dr. Cato Laurencin, an internationally known orthopedic surgeon and professor of orthopedic surgery. Deckers is not retiring, but taking a leave of absence and will return to the UConn Health Center (UCHC) in the future to hold a different position, according to university President Michael Hogan. Most UConn students can remember their first few days on campus freshman year as new, exciting, and a little terrifying to boot. Now, half way through September, the freshmen are pretty much settled into their new lives, and can look forward to the four great years that lie ahead. (1) comment
9/20 John Caron, 22, of Lebanon, was arrested on Bolton Road at 4:46 p.m. and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance or less than four ounces of marijuana. According to police, Caron was observed operating a vehicle on South Eagleville Road that had a malfunctioning brake light. (0) comments
