Jonas Zdanys: Poet of 'two worlds'

The UConn Co-op was filled with poetry lovers, students and professors alike, waiting for Jonas Zdanys to begin reading his works. Have you ever watched a game show and wished you could be a part of it yourself? United Church of Christ at UConn is giving students that chance with their upcoming Amazing Race event. Teams will be given a clue at the beginning of the race, and then have to figure out where to go to from the clue. (0) comments

Every week from now until Thanksgiving break, there will be hundreds of students running around stressed because of exams. As more and more students flock through the turnstiles into the library, campus is feeling busier and more fast-paced. Within the chaos of exams, many students feel like studying is all they know. What do "The Golden Compass," "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" and "The Color Purple" all have in common? They could all be the stars of Banned Books Week, which begins this coming Saturday, Sept. 27, and will run through Oct. 4. The week, which was launched in 1982 as a response to the widespread challenging of books in schools, bookstores and libraries, celebrates free literary expression - especially the literature that might raise a few hackles. YouTube videos are often the perfect solution to save procrastinators from cabin fever. With the thousands of videos released daily, you can get lost in the YouTube jungle without ever finding a worthwhile clip. (0) comments
