Leonard then led the vocal group in a mock "Preparation H" commercial jingle. Sweet performance for fall concert

Rubyfruit, one of UConn's all-female a cappela groups, sang their hearts out at their concert Friday night. The group consists of seven talented students whose voices echoed in harmony. The performance was held at the Wilbur Cross North Reading Room at 7 p. (0) comments

Book fair draws bigger crowds, more titles

With the enormous selection of books on display at the Connecticut Children's Book Fair last weekend, how can any bright young reader pick a favorite? "My favorite?" asked Alexander Andrusis, 8, of South Windsor. "I guess - most of them." Andrusis's answer proved to be the right one, as the tables in the Rome Ballroom were overflowing with children's and young adult literature of every stripe, from classics like Don Freeman's "Corduroy" and Tomie dePaola's "Strega Nona" series to more recent hits like Judith Schachner's "Skippyjon Jones" books. It's been almost a full week since Election Day's conclusion. The American self-proclaimed holiday was a day that many students on the UConn campus had been looking forward to, some because it was the end of campaign phone calls, on-campus demonstrations and the appearance of Barack Obama's face, well, everywhere, and others because of the possible historical context that the day would hold for the rest of America's existence.
