Spring Break
The UConn Honors Program is known for its large cumulative final projects - generally theses that range from 50 to 200 pages in length. However, for students who enter into the honors program as freshmen, there is another lesser known (and totally nonsensical) midpoint project: the sophomore certificate. (10) comments
T is the season for snowfall and chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Actually, that part of the season has not yet dawned upon us. So why do stores skip from Halloween merchandise to Christmas décor? Sure, there is the occasional turkey centerpiece or cornucopia, but aside from grocery stores' laying out Thanksgiving goodies and farms' displaying their finest birds, Thanksgiving passes without much ado. Every American is well aware of President-elect Barack Obama's plans for change, including economic plans, healthcare and his BlackBerry. Each of these pressing issues will greatly affect our nation's future, right? So what's the big issue with the president's choice of phone, and why are we even talking about this when we're in the middle of an economic crisis and a war? The New York Times reported how precious Obama's BlackBerry is to his everyday life and how this may change when he is inaugurated. (2) comments
Only at a UConn men's basketball game will you hear someone yell to the referee, "Why don't you get on your knees and blow the game, ref!" Guilty. I opened six boxes of Cookie Crisp in North dining hall just to get the free "Madagascar" toys. To everyone who saw me fall down the stairs in Arjona: Thanks for taking the time to stop and laugh.
