Developmental planning continues on the Storrs Center, a community center with restaurants, retail shops, residential and commercial space, and a parking garage, among other amenities planned for construction next to campus. Recent changes include the hiring of the real estate company Cushman & Wakefield and a publication of the center's sustainability guidelines. (2) comments

11/16 Adam Tulloch, 19, of Windsor, was arrested at 2:21 a.m. on North Eagleville Road and charged with failure to have headlights lit, failure to drive right, failure to drive in proper lane and operation while under the influence. According to police, officers observed a vehicle operated by Tulloch that did not have its headlights lit. (0) comments

No new cases of chicken pox since initial outbreak

Six students hit with virus last week, UConn taking precautions

There have been no new cases of chicken pox on campus since UConn officials reported last week that six students had become infected with the virus. This does not necessarily mean the illness has been completely contained, however, since symptoms take 10 to 21 days to appear after exposure. (1) comment

The American Cancer Society's UConn affiliate, Colleges Against Cancer, will begin planning for April's Relay for Life campaign tonight with the Team Captains' Rally. It is also hosting it's annual event, the Great American Smoke Out, this week. "Relay For Life is a unique opportunity for the UConn community to come together to fight back against cancer," said Courtney Collins, a 7th-semester pharmacy major and president of the Colleges Against Cancer chapter at UConn.
