99 Problems for San Diego State

HARTFORD - Two games. Two different-looking teams. Same result - another win. This time, however, the women's basketball team executed often and played as a unit as it won against San Diego State, 99-55, Thursday night. On paper, the game looked like it was all Maya Moore, who had 17 points in the first half. (0) comments

McLaren and rest of bench strong in rout at home

HARTFORD - One of head coach Geno Auriemma's biggest concerns coming out of the women's basketball team's season opener against Georgia Tech was the contribution he was going to get from the bench players. For the majority of the second half of that game, Auriemma stuck to a just six-player rotation, leaving most of the bench watching from the sidelines. (0) comments

It's been 12 days since the men's soccer team's last game - a 1-0 loss to DePaul in the Quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. A lot has happened since then. Huskies look for first-ever win at South Florida

A win over South Florida last season marked a series of firsts for a burgeoning UConn program. It was the first time the Huskies had defeated a ranked program, the first time UConn fans were able to rush onto Rentschler Field in celebration and the first time the program would be nationally ranked, as the 22-15 win over then-No. (0) comments

Eagles fly in, hand Huskies third straight loss

The women's hockey team out-shot Boston College 33-26 and still lost 4-0. The Huskies struggled with the Boston College speed for the first two periods, and were stifled time again in the neutral zone. The Eagles also put a ton of pressure on with their fore-check which resulted in the first goal of the game of BC, after a UConn defender lost the puck which resulted on a two on one. (0) comments

While Boston College's offense moved like a highly tuned machine, UConn sputtered for all of three periods last night, dropping its third straight conference game. Throughout the entire first period, the Huskies failed to maintain possession in the Eagles' zone and in the few opportunities where they were able to break out across the neutral zone, shots were taken early and off target, often without any UConn players near the net for the rebound. NFL New York Jets (7-3) at Tennessee Titans (10-0) Sunday 1:00 CBS It's hard to believe that this far into the season, the Jets are leading the AFC East. It is even harder to believe that the only remaining undefeated team is led by Kerry Collins. As hard as it is to believe, that's where we find ourselves and the with an offense as potent as the Jets, they might be the first team to hand the stout Titans defense their first loss.
